Iranian short film “Vadiyar” has been selected to compete at the 2021 edition of the Uppsala International Short Film Festival, Sweden

VADIYAR, Directed by Marjan Khosravi, the short film is about a child who is encouraged by villagers to take revenge on an animal who has attacked a pregnant woman in the village.

They believe the incident can spread rabies virus to all the residents of the village. However, the boy makes a different decision because he has a close relationship with nature and animals.

 

The Uppsala Film Festival has established itself as one of the most important festivals in Europe. winning the international or national competition at the festival makes a film eligible for a nomination for an Oscar. The festival is also recognized by the European Film Academy and BAFTA.

After screening Vadiar in Tehran International Short Film Festival, 44th Drama International Short Film Festival, Uppsala Short Film Festival is it’s third screening as Scandinavian premiere.
