SYNOPSIS:
In the Iranian mountains, Sogol, a 16-year-old girl, lives a nomadic life with her family. They migrate for hunting, engaging in seasonal tasks and daily labor. Sogol, despite lacking formal education, hopes to fulfil her dreams through her daughter Delaram. She works tirelessly to sustain their nomadic lifestyle and support her family. Hassan, a robust hunter, partners with Sogol to provide for the family and navigate the challenges of living in the wilderness. While their income comes from nature, Sogol’s life remains peaceful amidst the rugged environment. However, industrial pollution and city garbage have disrupted their surroundings and impacted the local wildlife.
Sogol takes care to protect the oak forests when producing charcoal and even plant acorns to rebuild and preserve them. She finds opportunities in the disadvantages of urban life, recycling items and selling goods to city-dwellers. Despite her harmonious existence with nature, Sogol carries deep-seated sorrow and concern. She is focused on securing a better future for Delaram, taking on the roles of a nurturing mother and loving sister.
Hassan, with a serious demeanour, supports Sogol. As time passes, changes elude them, and Sogol shoulders increasing responsibilities, particularly with the onset of another winter and her new pregnancy.
